GD-ROM No Longer Spins Up

Being the tinkerer I am, I cracked open my DC, not the first time I had done it. Well I didn't see any dust, so I decided to dig a little deeper. I unscrewed the GD-ROM lens housing. Still no dust or anything that would cause the games to lock up, as lots of us had experienced. So I started to re-assemble and give up. I put it all back together, hooked everything together, put the CD in and powered up. I noticed it was mighty quiet, and the screen was black, soon the Dreamcast logo (unanimated for once) came on screen and just sat there. I powered off, opened the lid and powered back on, the CD did not move at all.

I may have missed the connector for the GD-ROM lens housing on the mainboard, I don't know. The way both are positioned in accordance with each other is a pain in the ass to correctly mount it.

You know.. this gives me an idea.. I think I will turn an old PC case into my new DC housing..

I dunno, anyone have any thoughts on why the GD-ROM no longer spins up?
