*sigh* No solder mod chip question..

I know the no solder mod chips are crap (now i know anyway). Before I bought it though I thought it'd be a good alternative to having to solder...anyway, my question is... I finally got the no solder mod chip to work right and was able to get DVDR's to play fine on it...for about a week. I had to purchase another boot CD since the people at gocybershop.ca sold me the wrong version of gameshark even though they assured me it was the correct version...anyway I purchased a boot CD called Swap Magic. It worked great...for about a week. Now when I hold down the eject button (which is supposed to make the cd tray open for 5 seconds then automatically close) the CD tray opens up, but then doesn't automatically close...sometimes it doesn't even open up. The power light just blinks orange to green a couple times, it makes kind of a whirring sound, then stops. When it does eject the tray, after 5 seconds the power light makes the orange to green flashes (like it usually does when it sucks the CD tray back in) but it doesn't suck the cd tray back in..it just makes a whirring sound followed by nothing. I can use the eject button normally, but since i have the no solder mod chip just using regular eject wont work. Does this sound like its a problem with the mod chip or the PS2? i'm assuming its the mod chip since the PS2 is functioning fine as long as I dont try to hold down the eject button to swap anything like i could before. I just would like to know for sure what the problem is before I end up spending more money on this thing I should've just bought a PS2 already mod'd with a good mod chip before..if I had the cash to start all over and do that I'd do it in a heartbeat..but i have to make do with what I got unfortunatly Please let me know your thoughts on this and any suggestions you have.

I have taken the no solder mod chip out and put it back in making sure everything was hooked up right too. Nothing changed between the time it was working and the time it wasn't. I was playing it fine last night, this morning, it wouldn't work right

Thanks for your time.

DR
