There is a release from SKiDROW which has no copy protection. Rumors say that it is not final. But the demos also were not copy protected (normally they are securom wrapped if retail game uses securom). Maybe we will see the first patch coming soon or a real final proper.

Release date for EU is 13th of July 2007. For US is 17th of July 2007.
The game is in gold for quite a bit by now(almost two weeks). So if there is a leaked version, it might be the EU version. And I've never heard of a demo with a serial number.

In the future, we maybe gonna see games who all require activation, as Windows, Office....

OR bound to an account as STEAM

Maybe the developers have given up protecting their works of art as it seems most protections can be overcome. Perhaps it's just Ubisoft in this case.

Lets face it, if games were a little cheaper then maybe there would be less piracy and more sales. Having said that I do understand it probably costs these game companies alot of money to produce a title and therefore they need to recoup their costs AND make a profit.

Just need to find a balance really . Internet retailers such as Play.Com sell at pretty good prices particularly PC games. The likes of DIRT the latest Colin Mcrae offering is £17.99 on Play.Com which if you have a behemoth of a PC to play it on is great value especially when compared to the Xbox360 version which is I believe £39.99. Again, you weigh up the cost of building a high spec PC to buying a console and the pro's and cons of both and takes your choice.

Happy gaming everyone and apologies to the Admin team if this reply is a little off topic on this thread.

Cheers.

As I will keep on saying, no matter what the price is people will still steal (Piracy is when media is sold for profit, not when downloading thats being a warez user), its happened since the 80's and it will continue to the way afters.

This "costs too much excuse" has also been around from the year dot. The reason why its used alot as it makes people feel better for their stealing.

People steal big price items (utilities that are a huge price for a reason) and also small priced items (shareware titles that require a minimal fee to fully function). As long as kids have their broadbands they will continue to steal, no matter how many times they try to say they arent doing anything wrong.

I ask you this, how many people use WinRAR without paying for it. Then ask again, how many would pay for it (not just say they would for the sake of it).
