Exclamation Sims2 pets error

I followed all the instructions given, for sims2ets but when i go to play the game a window pops up saying, "A required security module cannot be activated. This program cannot be executed (5014)." What does this mean, and where did I go wrong? Thanks for the help.

You haven't replaced the main executable so the copy protected original is still in place - that's the one displaying this message.

If you don't know how to find files then ask for a computer-literate's help.

The game folder should have either a "Bin" or "Binaries" subfolder, as far as I recall. It is there that you need to copy the cracked exe to.
