Mouse Only Pc Games (please Help!!!!!)
Hello!!
My name is Chris and I am physically handicapped. Due to my physical disabilities, I cannot use a conventional keyboard to operate a computer. However, I am able to use a mouse (although, I can only utilize the Left Mouse Button). Without going into too much detail, I can only play PC Games that require only a mouse to operate the game. In other words, I cannot play a PC Game that requires using the keyboard to play the game (i.e. MADDEN NFL). My biggest question is what are some PC Games that only use a mouse to play the game? I realize that some PC Games state that the keyboard is needed to play, but it's just to do something like type your name. If that's required, I can have someone do that for me. I'm just looking for PC Games where the majority of the game is operated by a mouse? I would greatly appreciate any information anyone can give about this matter. I've tried asking people that work at computer game stores and typically they don't know what games use strictly a mouse and what games use a keyboard. Plus, they won't let me buy a game and bring it back if I am unable to play it. Respectfully, Chris |

Hmm I'm sorry for you.
You should be able to play some strategy games. For example Command & Conquer. P.S. Use the General Gaming forum or off-topic next time Greets |

One of my favorites.. Mainly because you can play with only the mouse is StrongHold 2. This game, to me has been, worth every cent. Others, which you can play without much lost functionality are the: Sims Games.. The Sims 2, etc Simcity3000 SimCity4 You do almost all actions with the left mouse button.. in some varation.. in these games. Regards, Dieselbrad I will post more as I check out my Library.. |

Try to Total War series also. Mouse only, no keyboard whatsoever I mastered the game when I broke my arm (compound fracture, both bones were sticking out of the skin... had to get surgery ). I played it for 3 months and never got bored. Highly recommended
Civilization is also a great series. Just like before, you only need your mouse Good luck!

Chris I guess you got a friend to write this thread for you?
Strategy games like Command & Conquer and similar would be ok for you. Pain in the butt when trying to make groups of units and switching between them. But point and click adventures usually only need a mouse to operate also. I dont mean to pry is it one hand that is damaged or both? Would be a shame if both, hope things work out for you and you find what your looking for |

Just one idea... As far as I remember, Windows XP has an on-screen, clickable "visual" keyboard facility built into it. But, if it doesn't, perhaps, someone else wrote such a software. Of course, you wouldn't want to play an adventure game that needs text typed in letter by letter, because that would be tiring for you, but only to enter your name into the Hall of Fame and high score table that should be enough.
Also, there are graphical adventures from Lucasarts/Lucasfilm Games: Maniac Mansion; Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders; Day of the Tentacle; Sam and Max Hit the Road; Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis; etc... In these, you can click objects and people on the upper, graphical half of the screen and combine those with verbs written on the lower, textual half of the screen. Not to mention that these are great games; the last one is one of my sister's favorites! As for bringing the game back, if you can't play it, you should go to small shops, where people are friendly and understanding. You can expect a lot more from them than workers in large supermarkets...! Happy gaming!

wow! thank you all for the feedback!! i truly appreciate it!! i do use an on-screen keyboard to type. i simply move my mouse cursor to the letter i want and click on it. it's obviously not the quickest way to type, but i do pretty good with it. i tried those "You Talk, It Types" devices. what a disaster! see, i use a ventilator to breathe, so my voice isn't always easy to understand and the device would type something that sounded like what i said, but i said something completely different. it was extremely frustrating.
anyway, thank you again to all and if you think of more games, please post them!! Chris www.chrispittman.org |
