UltraARC Tutorials, Hints and Examples
How to properly use UltraARC for a Conversion?
It is very easy, just follow these steps to make a simple conversion using any of the scripts supported by UltraARC. Steps: Step 01: Download UltraARC. Step 02: Download a script supported by UltraARC from the same thread (Note: Installer Creator also supports UltraARC) Step 03: Run UltraARC leave Source and Output empty but fill in other spaces in the program. Step 04: Get your compiled setup ready and additional files (setup.exe, setup.ico and Redist[DX9 and etc]) and place them in a folder near UltraARC program. Step 05: If the folder name of the compiled setup and additional files is GTAIV_BASE then set first volume content like this: .\GTAIVBASE then UltraARC will sort out the files by placing them correctly for installation. Step 06: Set split options, For CD700, Set 701mb for custom volume sizes, For DVD5, set 4474 and so on, Bluray are supported too. Step 07: Click on export config. then overwrite the one in the same directory as UltraARC then your conversion is ready. Additional Steps(Optional): Step 08: Just before exporting in the normal steps. Step 09: To use conditions for installations, this is what you do. (Installer Creator, CI and CIU are the only scripts that support this) Step 10: Click add to increase row count in the grid. Step 11: Set files using masks or complete file name e.g. for row 1 (audio\lang\eng\*.*) and row 2 (audio\lang\ger\*.*) If using Installer Creator: Step 12: Add conditions, Under components and tasks, numbers are the only values accepted. (e.g. if your component number in script is 1, then set 1 under that row). Step 13: Add language condition, values to put are: English Albanian Bosnian Czech French German Hungarian Italian Malaysian Polish Portuguese Russian Spanish Turkish Ukrainian Vietnamese Step 14: Click on export config. then overwrite the one in the same directory as UltraARC then your conversion is ready. If using CI and CIU: Step 12: Add conditions, Under components numbers are the only values accepted. (e.g. if your component number in script is 1, then set 1 under that row). Step 13: Add language condition, values to put are: AL AR BIH CNT HR CZ DE DK EN ENUK ES ESMX FA FI FR GR HU IT JP KO NL NO PL PR PRBR RU SR SW TH TR VI Step 14: Click on export config. then overwrite the one in the same directory as UltraARC then your conversion is ready. Hints: Hint 01: If you tick CDImage, Bink It, Crunch Texture or the other options, just don't forget to configure them. Hint 02: Now when it comes to Bink, OggEncode or Crunch Texture and you have a lot of files must be processed, it's not a problem. Masks are accepted, e.g. (*.bik) and if there are more than many files to be processed, semi-colons are accepted too e.g. (oldvideos\*.bik;newvideos\*.bk2) Hint 03: If using Bink It feature and you want to keep video width and height, just set width and height to 0. Hint 04: If you want to give users a choice of making cdimages, open UltraARC and make sure that CDImage is equals to nothing, CDImage is under options.
