read this...about copying selfboot backups
This is what I have discovered about why copying selfbooting backup games (ie imaging and burning an already burned selfboot game. I'm not talking about d/ling a selfboot image and burning it...that works fine for me) does not work for many people. On a selfboot game, there are two sessions. One should be CD-DA and the other CD-XA. For people who can't backup selfboots, the second session appears as a CD-ROM session and not CD-XA. I happen to have this problem myself. Now the thing I'm wondering is, is the reason the second session appears as CD-ROM instead of CD-XA because of the CD-RW drive or the software (drivers, etc...). I have a Memorex CRW-1622 with latest APSI drivers properly installed and everything. I am almost positive it is because of the actual drive, I put my drive into my friend's computer who can burn selfboot backups fine on his cd-rw and with my drive, it still detects the second session as CD-ROM. So is the solution to go out and buy a new drive? That is such a waste almost...anyone have any thoughts on the subject of copying selfboot backups?
