Prince of persia Sands of Time problems

Hello people! I'm kinda newbie here, so please bear with me...thanks..

I have some problems with PoP sands of time, firstly, in the installation, when CD1 is installing the game video files, the installer hangs then it will show a window telling that a Catasthropic error was occured, i tried to install it in other folder, but the same thing happens.

My rig specs

P4 2.0Aghz
ECS P4VMM2 mobo
512 mb pc333 ddram
Inno 3d GeForce fx5200 128mb 128bit
Windox XP pro

when i tried to install it in my other rig, which is an AMD Athlon Xp 2200+, with a ATI Radeon 9200SE (128 mb 64bit) vidcard, the game was installed, but here's another problem, when the game reaches the scene where the prince is battling the people who were turned to monster by the giant sand timer (this is after the prince inserted the dagger into the giant sandtimer), again the games hangs, so i tried to install it in my P4 rig, installation works, but it hangs in the same scene.

I already upgraded all of Nvidia's and ATI's drivers, but still, it hangs in that scene...

I really appeciate the help everybody will give to me, thanks a lot guys...

Re: Prince of persia Sands of Time problems

Your first system must have had trouble reading the disc. Clean the disc or try a different drive to install the game, maybe use the disc drive from the second system and see if it installs right.

The second system could have one or more of several thing going wrong. First check your bios settings (mainly those pertaining to video), I'm guessing a simple setting might solve the problem here. It also could be your ram or power supply unit or heat but I'm guessing its a setting for your video card since it crashes at that certain point in the game. I'm guessing your video is set to do something (most likely in the bios) that the video card can't do but the game software attempts to make it do it anyway and freezes the system.
