newbie PAL patch question for Pro Evolution

Hello folks, newbie here. Hope I'm posting in the right forum.

Can someone please tell me what I will need to do to get a PAL version of Pro Evolution Soccer to play on my American TV & American PS2?

I've been reading that I need to "modchip" my system to make it compatible.

Has anyone done this? Is it very difficult? Does anyone know of a plug-in adapter that would not require hardware work/soldering?
