Mech Warrior:Vengeance-patching problem

I tried to patch this game with every possible language and number version and I always get this message-

0036: Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match
PATCH was unable to locate an exact match for the original file to be updated, but PATCH was able to locate a file with the same name as the original file. However, the file found did not have either the same size or checksum as the actual original file that PATCH is seeking in order to perform the update.

Of course I didn't use any cracks.

But this message does mean that you have the wrong language/version of that file. (Uninstall and) re-install the game and start again the updating process from scratch. If it still doesn't work, contact the publisher.

You mean every time I try to update it the files of the game get tainted for the proper update to occur, whatever that might be?

No idea, as I don't have the game. As I said, if you can't make it work, contact the publisher.
