Juiced NoCD/DVD minidisc image issue and crashing (possibly related?)

Hi, the one that was posted here: https://gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_juiced.shtml#Juiced%20[ALL]%20No-CD/Fixed%20Image doesn't work because I get this error:


It seems the game knows I'm trying to find a way to bypass chucking the disc in to start the game.... This *should* supposedly work for the v1.01 version of the game as that's the latest version after patching up. All the cracks I've found are for v1.00....

Perhaps having the right v1.01 crack will let me get into the test drive mode under workshop without crashing? I heard hoodlum was the one to go crash free according to this site: https://crappygames.miraheze.org/wiki/Juiced but hoodlum's crack didn't work or the hoodlum ones I got were fake but branded with hoodlum..... I've tried megagames, gamecopyworld and game burn world.

One poster here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/367725 reckons the crashing issue is because I have the giveaway warez version.....but the genuine non warez version doesn't have this issue....which presumably is a troll to pirates by the developers, like gamedevtycoon where they made the gamer harder and told the game company that people were pirating off them and those players who wanted to save their company wanted to put drm or equivalent on their sold games to keep their game company afloat when pirates were getting their games for free and no one was buying any of them, oh the irony........which means I was given a dud game....

Perhaps this dud is the reason why the mini image doesn't work? ..............

I don't think there will be a crack for 1.01. Your best choices is A) getting the Playstation 2 version or B) waiting until GOG releases it (without DRM).

The problem with the mini image is that it doesn't remove the copy protection. The game may not even start with the original CD/DVD because its copy protection (Starforce drivers) are not compatible with your current Windows, they were made for older operating systems and, I'm sure, make use of undocumented features.

Still, you can try the programs that "hide" emulated CD/DVD drives so that copy protections will believe they are physically existing drives. See the FAQ for a list of them. (But they may not be compatible with your current Windows either.)
