Dreamcast ATOMISWAVE Petition - New games for a 2nd little NeoGeo: The SEGA Dreamcast
There is a new petition around to bring some new games to the Dreamcast:
Similar to the NAOMI arcade board (Border Down, Ikaruga), the ATOMISWAVE hardware by Sammy (Guilty Gear X / Guilty Gear Isuka) is nothing less then a slightly modified Dreamcast so it would be very easy to port these games to our little white wonder. The Atomiswave is pretty comparable to NAOMI 2 so it has more RAM, but it should be very easy to do a decent port to DC: Atomiswave specs: Quote:
Quote:
32 > 24 = The rest actually is identical! It would be very easy to convert that down! The official ATOMISWAVE website can be found here MVS 2 = Atomiswave (and that's offical!) AES 2 = Dreamcast? For SNK the Atomiswave is something like the official NEOGEO MVS 2, so let's convince SAMMY with this petition so it would be possible that the Dreamcast could be the a 2nd NEO GEO AES 2 for SNK! ...and beside that SEGA and SAMMY are like one company now: These screenshots were taken from the game Dolphin Blue, a Metal Slug type 2 player and 2 dimensional action game with 3D polygon graphics. If you'd like to support the idea to bring Atomiswave games to DC you can write online a little message to Sammy using this contact form! If you've done it you'll recieve this letter one or two days later: Quote:
Max aka Freeze of www.Dreamcast-Scene.com (he already initiated and organized a successful petition for Border Down) still takes your contributions to the paper petition he runs and will send them to SAMMY! Here's what he said: Quote:
Just set up your own little petition and draw a little picture or drop SAMMY a few lines and pass them over to Max: Quote:
An online petition can be signed here. This new attempt to bring Atomiswave games to Dreamcast has been started by the Portoguese DC fan André Oliveira that I am currently in contact with to change the text of the petition. I've got reply from him as I send him a new text I wrote for his petition: Quote:
We will join forces with MAX aka Freeze from Dreamcast-Scene.com as he has contact to a JAPANESE translator so he can do a real good letter for a huge package of 'real' subscribers for it! The official Dreamcast-Scene.com relaunch is planned in three or four weeks and ALL the petitions will be collected over there to send them as a printed paper petition to SEGA-SAMMY Co. in ONE huge package: :P (by MaxiDCGamer - now sent to www.dreamcast-scene.com) I think SAMMY will think when they see how many people from all over the world do sign a paper petition too, do organize a letter in JAPANESE (Max of Dreamcast-Scene.com will do it), draw pictures and send this stuff together with the printed online petition to SEGA-SAMMY in ONE huge package 8) PS: Greetings to speud. With Chankast playing DC games fairly well and games being released the same day that they come out on stores, what makes you think Sammy would port theses games to the DC? At least with the Neogeo it would take a while to dump and decrypt the roms.

The NeoGeo can't play Atomiswave games
I don't think Sammy does it, I hope they'll do it. There are people who would buy the games and porting it wouldn't be very expensive for them due to the hardware similarity. Chris |
