little help please? (re. aliens vs predator 2 and castle wolfenstein)

i am having problems copying 2 of the games i got for christmas

Return to Castle Wolfenstein works fine off the original, copies straight off using my Sony cd-writer and WinOnCD software, but will not install from the copied cd. it freezes at 56% with an I/O error.
I notice other people have had the same problem and have been advised to try different software or a different cd-writer. i am getting a new acer cd writer (2010a) soon with nero software, so that should be better?

if anyone has copied it with no problems can you please tell me what you did?


AVP2 seems to be more of a problem. it also copies fine, although it does need a cracked AVP2.exe file to run, however if you burn this in place of the original on the cd it will not install, so i put it in a separate directory.
when the game is installing from the original cds it asks for the next disk around 40-50%. from the backup cds it does it at about 15%, half way through a file. after the file it crashes, saying the file PREDATOR.RAZ does not match the one in the .cab file

can anyone who has successfully copied AVP2 please give me some help here?

wolfenstein has no protection, therefore normal way of backing-up files, using nero for example, will work.

AVP...i don't know about...
