Diablo 2: LOD Backup Help

Hey guys. After much testing and trying I am now asking for help. I have attempted to use various of the "No-CD" patches and they'll load the game, but the claimed "b.net" support does not work. I also tried out many of the loaders which allow a backup CD to be used, but "b.net" support, as claimed, was in fact unsupported.

Either method, no-CD or backup CD, will load the game yet neither can achieve a successful connection with battle.net. Both methods result in a battle.net error message "Cannot Identify Product Version" when in fact I had patched to the latest version, 1.08.

I have given up on trying to get the game to work with a no-CD patch and am focusing on creating a successful backup CD. I have seen two ways posted here and tried them both to no avail. One was to use CloneCD and the other to use CDRWin. Neither backup could load up the game without a loader file.

I'm asking all you guys who have successfully created a working Diablo 2: LOD backup CD to help me, and all the other people here who have encountered the same problem and are now at a deadend. Thanks for reading. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

ok, use Clone CD,
Tick 1,3,5 on read (1x)
Tick Close last session on write

There ya go.

This will make a 1:1 copy for you.

Thanks for responding. I was wondering if it would matter if I used my CDRW to both read and write the CD? Also to run the game as well? I'm curious about this because the CloneCD method I attempted earlier had clear instruction to use a regular CD-ROM drive to read the disc and to load the game.

To confirm:

Read Options:
-Read Speed 1x
-Read Subchannel Data from Data Tracks
-Abort on Read Error
-Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner (100)

Write Options:
-Finilize CD (no more writing possible)

-All other options remain uncheck?

Thanks!

It is fine to use the setting that were given, it will produce an accurate copy of LOD but only if you have a burner which is capable of RAW writing format so I suggest to visit ,http://www.cdrinfo.com/software/clonecd/page13.shtml
This page has a listing of most capable hardware for all your copying needs with CLONE CD
