Genesis Roms on Dreamcast w/Lemec
i'm a noob here, and i would appreciate it if someone could answer a few questions for me. in regards to lemec and genesis roms, what are the three variables at the top- mode, skip, and sound, for?
for mode i can choose 0, 1, 2, or 4 for skip, 0, 1 or 2 and for sound 0 or 1 also, is there any way to save your game? i see that there's a resume game option when you start the game, but it's always greyed-out. thanks! lastly, is there a FAQ for this thing? all the options at the initial screen are confusing (i.e. 1st_read.bin, ginreset.bin, ginsu.bin, and on and on) what are all those for? sometimes i click on one and the screen just goes black and nothing happens! |

a year old topic but i thought i reply anyway
most of those options you should be able to work out yourself, sound 0 1 should be self-explanatory (On/Off) unlike snes most sega game didn't come with battery backed up SRAM, so if it's grayed out most likely the game doesn't support it. Sonic 3 does have it, so you will be able to save the game. .bin are dreamcast executables and they can be ignored... |

Read this, it's from the original smpk :
MODE0 = standard, fastest video mode settings MODE1 = slower, supports some extra features MODE2 = slowest, includes window layers (used by some games) MODE4 = same as MODE0 with background skewing SKIP0 = no sprite skipping until maximum reached SKIP1 = moderate sprite skipping, used to prevent major slowdown SKIP2 = maximum sprites skipped SOUND0 = standard sound emulation SOUND1 = sound tempo increased I don't know if you can save. Try with the original smpk. Last edited by japanese_cake; 05-01-2010 at 14:19. |

I have been searching around trying to find someway to convert the dreamcast *BGM files to music files that can be played in windows.
I read in some placed that many DC games uses MIDI format with Yamaha based sound system to render the music...
