This same exe keeps popping up again and again, we have had people in this post trying to pass it off as the EA Downloader exe (Valium).

Can no one actually verify if the EA Downloader exe works?

If anyone has the EA Downloader version of BF2142 please PM me?

I guess if your using the EA Downloader version your probably not browsing this topic anyway Maybe I should ask around on a BF board but I'm sure if it did work the EA Downloader exe would be around everywhere.

Maybe... CD key tied to EA Downloader?

Wouldn't you think it would be easy enough for EA to keep track of who actually downloaded via EA Downloader versus those that didn't? I don't know if this is actually being done, but if it were, then no one except the legit EA Downloader purchasers could use that EXE.

Regardless of what you may think of the legalities of decompiling, modifying etc we are all still allowed and entitled to create one working backup of our expensive DVD/CD's.
It is the publishers who force us to use modified files because of their protections.
If they really wanted to play fair they would supply us with 2 copies of the game. Then none of us would have an excuse to use modified files.

We can not stop people from downloading or using warez, what people do is entirely up to them, but we can stop them from talking about it on these forums. Discussing warez is not tolerated on these forums.

Many countries have different laws, I come from a country which allows me to create a backup. Most times I have to use a crack to make that backup work. That in my opinion is the fault of the publishers!

Brings me to the question! Why did you originally come and visit Fileforums? Was it to maybe obtain a crack!?

Tried to make a backup with alcohol 120%(the latest version) but it dosen't work.

Everytime i try to launch bf2142, it says that i need to have the dvd in my drive.

Yes, i've tried to use pr0t.stop and i've tried to disable my plextor dvd drive. But it dosen't work.

So i wonder if i've overlooked some options or maybe my dvd writer is just unable to make functioning image backup?

Edit: And when i want to make the image of bf2142, why can't i choose which cd protection to do it with? like i know its possible to choose "safedisc" but that options is gone.

Look at my thread and use virtual cd v8.

I own original cd, but i hate cd in my drive. During booting the cd drive is very noisy. Aarrgh. And CD-Check is faster with image. I'm silent freak.

@myckee mate if grumpy was any kind of moderator and this is not actually directed to grumpy this is an opinion he would have you banned.

if i buy a game its mine i have every right to use fixed exe for it or a fixed image.

if the publishers dont like that then they can buy it back off me but until that happens i own that data on the disk.

if punlishers have an issue with that then as i said they can buy it off me

i have a original copy of manhunt and postal 2 both banned in australia

but there mine until the company that made them illegal in the great country of australia buys them back.

hope you understand this mate anyone witha quarter of a brain would.

No man, he came here to give us his little diatribe and to feel like a holier than thou queef of a man.

Maybe he's just a gimmick account. There can't be that much to do in Zimbabwe.

Just to clear things up...

Do you understand that there's a great difference between A) creating, B) distributing and C) using cracks, from law's point of view? I would say that B) distributing may be the one that is illegal in the least number of countries...

If you think you're so smart, please, sit for ten minutes in complete silence, and find out the reason. Hint: direct and indirect breach of the law...

gamejack can emulate safedsic 4 on a dvd disk

only thing is you need this little 300k emulator running in the background

and a dvd image would be much more handy but atleast this way u can still back it it.

just download gamejack and check it out folks
