A short description of ASPI layers have been given by Crispy above:
"It is an acronym for "advanced scsi programer's interface" and is merely a collection of progs designed to instill some conformity to hardware/software interactions. "
If you were talking about ATIP also, then just read the info above

Okay that answers my question. I'll try searching for more info on it again becuase I still don't completely understand the ASPI thing. Thanks for the info though...
