just to point out, I asked the person who installed the i.c. for me, he told me that the ps2 will not easily burn out and the chip I have installed is an origa chip for my jap ps2.

Unfortunately, I had to take it for repair due to a wire dislodging itself and making it unable to play usa imports.

So to add to this make sure you don't shake your ps2 about when transporting the machine to your friends.
