Well I've had some success this afternoon. I used the 750X Hex in my NEO Key,
changed the Cap to a different 50V 1mf, switched the wire to the left side of the microcap (closest to center) and I was able to get 1 single PSX CD to load, Worms Armageddon loads about 3/4 times, nothing else for PSX!? worms was on a Verbatim, all my others are different. Also Worms CD was closed, most of my other PSX CD's are open for new sessions and I fill up the CD's with backup data as the PS1 only reads the first session on a CD. I don't know if the PS2 drive is multisession or not, this could be a problem for me. I also managed to get Crash, Wrath of Cortex to boot, that was backed up on a Sony brand CDR. No, I don't own a Gameshark 2 either, It turns out that the InterAct Memory Card Manager CD can be used as a boot disk!! YA Hoo!! It took me about 3 tries to get it to work and I never tried it again after that so i dont really know what the success rate's going to be on that. I don't know if this is normal or not but both the original and Backup of Crash WOC are very noisy and take a long time to load the levels. I don't have any other game on blue CD yet to compare. I have 2 DVD originals that are a lot more quiet, and the games seem to load faster than Crash. Should I try and get a 63V Cap? That seems to be the recommended type!? Anything else I can try on my homemade NEO KEY to get better results? |
