Is my LG GCE-8160B Burner faulty?

Tried Clone CD. Didn't even get as far as Easy CD 4. This is starting to annoy me. I might have to buy a DVD-Drive just to read my CDs for burning, (I wanted a DVD drive, but now I HAVE to get one), because if there's nothing actually wrong with the drive (I.e, they're all manufactured like that), I'm at a loss.
