highlander, are you saying that the backups you make with your LG CED-8120B writer all boot on your PSX ???
'Cause if its the case, then why can't I do it with the same writer model ?? How are your components plugged on the IDE ports ?? Be specific. Primary IDE cable : what is on master and what is on slave ? Secondary IDE cable : what is on master and what is on slave ?? Maybe the writer has to be on the same IDE cable as the HD. I'm getting desperate here.
