think its a simple cd/dvd check, protection back on those days wasn't that sophisticated mostly
 , or its a really really really old protectionalso try scanning the disk itself, if that doesn't work (there's a bug in pid regarding disk->file scans.. fixed in the new build coming soon) try copying the files to harddisk and then scanning them...

I don't think this game has a copy protection, it just asks for the cd to play. The game does a full install of everything except for the music which plays from the cd. If you turn off music in the options, it doesn't need to access the cd at all, but still asks for it... THANKS
