Patching a ANY GAME in a PS ONE With a MODCHIP from MODCHIP.com

Ok I've learned a little bit more about patchs, and for this case, i think i applied the right patch for DIE HARD TRILOGY 2, BUT is not working, i have applied the patch with PPF-O-MATIC v2.0, the file size matched , and sayd the apply was successful, now when i insert the game into my PS ONE with Mod chip of 4 wires, i have the screen. Please Insert A PLAYSTATION DISK (RED SCREEN)...
what the f.. is going on??
i have made NO mistakes on Patching and Copying.

Does the PS ONE (SMALL WHITE ONE) really works with patched games and a mod chip???.
