By the way, of course, Nethack is more or less still alive!
 Also, there's a similar game (the Windows remake of the C64 original): Sword of Fargoal (random generated levels, very high replay value!!!), which my sister's boyfriend has been spending hours playing with! Furthermore, if you like such retro-style, out-of-current-main-stream, adventure-action-puzzle-roleplay-strategy-all-in-one games, try Colobot (and its sequel, CeeBot) and Darwinia, too.

meh
sorry to bring up an old thread.. I'm having trouble with Fate. I copied over the crack fate.exe, but it won't let me save any of my games. I can press "save and exit" but when I restart the game, I have no choice but to start a new character. There is no Continue, only New Game.
Any help?? please?

why couldnt the person who knew this didnt tell others i pity you..should hang your head with shame People just create a folder SAVE in main Fate directory then play the game then save and exit and when u again reach main page ull find continue Enjoy
