Like has been said you need a good v7
 Me I'm still looking for a good one , Won a SCPH39003 pal machine on Ebay the guy only lived about 12 miles from me . Got home all looked in good shape and then turned PS2 on and not one original loaded  , phone the guy up and said when was the last time you used the machine and he said about six months ago So still looking for a v7 , once got one can sell my new v4 which played all DvD r copy movies .

What and spend more money , the guy said it had only had about 10 hours of use
 yeah right ! ! . He was full of S**TGot my cash back , and on the look again for a v7 , how much should I pay for a used one . And if I can find a new unused v7

Talking about laser-exchange: got a V7 with wornout 400C-laser as well. Is it possible to install a new one for anybody or is that a very complicated procedure that should be done by an expert? Read the UI-Sticky-thread about laser-calibration, but didnīt look too difficult, and am not sure if this needs to be done with a new laser?

Need advise again
 Do only v4's have the warning logo on bottom of PS2 If so the guy I got the v7 last night just changed label on back , as it had the warning logo on bottom of PS2 . Should not have done if it was a good v7 Right ?

No, also the V7s have the warning logo! My one definately is a V7 (GH-019 Motherboard, KHS-400c laser, SCPH-39004 PAL), it has got it! Seems he didnīt change the label, Bionic_Man.
