You can get a lot of pretty good burners out there I have found. And of course all the manufactures have put out some not so good ones too.
I prefer my Plextor 712A. I have been using Plextor for a long time and have really never had any problems to speak of. But in saying that the new Plextor 716 has had many problems. It all depends on what speed you are looking for. You will have to shell out a little more money for the Plextor though. I just think they are worht it. I'm sure there will be many that don't think so. LOL! Terik |

I changed my burner from the Pioneer A05, to the NEC 3500 becuase it supports dual-layer burning and the reviews I read say its one of the best (plextor included) for quality burns, plus the Pioneer A05 was struggling to burn some media at x4, even though the media was x4 ... strange
May not be the fastest, but I wanted quality over speed, besides I think I can live with waiting an extra 2-3 minutes if it produces better quality and stable DVD's and CD's
