If it were true, you would read about it alot more on the net, and all those sites that nintendo have threatened to sure for hosting n64 games would have nothing to worry about.

The big question remains when is a certain system becomes obsolete, nintendo can still claim that they are making NES carts just to avoid their roms becoming "public domain".
Until the game makers tell which carts/systems are free, until then no rom will be free

~WoMeNlOvEr ... so far ive moddded xboxes with: 2 Matrixes 3 Xbits My xbox!: -250 gig -XBIT -4981.06 x2 -orange led for light, matching beautifully with the orange x in the splash screen -Component cable my problem...solved?!: -one of my friends says he can get about 450 files off it!... and now i havent seen him for about 4 months..and ive written him like 11 emails.. Hello again.
Unfortunately, we stopped producing N64 games, but you can still find great games, both brand new and used through the second-hand market. Sincerely, Nintendo of America, Inc. i guess the games are obsolete

Obsolete how? Just because Nintendo America has stopped distributing games (the Japenese Arm has'nt), does not mean roms are now legal. I think you need to learn about Copyright laws.
