They are JP though and are v1.6 only with Xcalibur encoder.

I got mine for £112 factory sealed from a friend, its PAL, v1.4 with Focus encoder because I didn't want the JP version or a v1.6.

He bought about 20 and had two left so I thought I'd get it since they are highly sought after.

Having the Asian version isn't the same since its (bleh) v1.6 and supposedly still uses the Samsung drive instead of the superior Philips (CD-R reading) DVD+R/DVD+RW/DVD+R9 reading drive which Sammy's have trouble playing back even if you booktype, especially DVD+R9.
