DC games as large as 760mb being burnt with DJ possible?

sometimes the image file may say it is larger than it really is.

i recently made a pantera best of cd, it ran 72 minutes. when i made an image before i burned it, it came out to be 750MB, but i was still able to fit it on a 80 min cd. it probably would have fit a 74 min, but i did not know that it was 72 min. at the time.

i also have the matrix vcd, which i wanted to make a dc-vcd on a 74 min disk. the movie file i need to extract says it is 720MB, which does not make sense, because how did it fit onto a 74 min. disk.
