Sounds like overheating. When yr ps2 just resets itself for no reason then that usually the problem.
Open up, check yr fan running at full speed, get rid of gunk on fan, give PS2 a good dust out, check that there's no wire,insulation tape etc blocking fan air route to motherboard etc. Good luck
