questions about xbox xtender

after more reading.. I found where xboxinside says you can play online without disabling, because it doesnt send info to ms?

is this true?

Does not submit information to Microsoft when the Xbox is online, online gaming has been verified with copies.

if so.. then I guess Im just back to figuring out how to get my larger harddrive to work in there
