Deleting the programs shouldn't be good enough. You should use their uninstall feature. You should definately use Playbackup's uninstall feature, and you should update Daemon Tools to the latest version rather than removing it.
If you have deleted all the reference to Playbackup, try installing it again, then using the uninstall feature so it can clean it up properly.
Most new games have a blacklist - if they detect such programs on the computer they wont even let u play your original games!! The programmers usually just update their software to stop the blacklist - it's a game of cat and mouse.
