Try this and see if it works. (Although you shouldn't have to do this for Originals, UNLESS they are IMPORT originals...)
PS2 backups (CD & DVD) • Insert game and close tray • Press reset PS1 Backups • Insert game and close tray • Press reset twice DVD Films • Insert game and close tray • Press reset twice NOTE: In rare situations there is alternative way to start DVD VIDEO. When RESET light is RED, press RESET and keep it pressed until the BLUE light of the EJECT button goes on.
