Um... you do lose some quality when using mp3's. Difference can be clearly heard. And it isn't necessary at all to use mp3's as a middle step. Simply use a good extractor program. This one is the one I always use. It's fast, easy to use, and tries to make an errorfree extraction. You can set it's output to mp3's or wavs, but I still recommend wavs.
