Confused about installing modchip

I have disassembled the ps2 and now I have to actually put the chip in. If it matters the board is a schph 30001 v4. Okay, now I'm looking at the board and I have the diagram for where to solder the wires, but where does the modchip actually go? And after I put the modchip in wherever it goes then do I solder the wires to the board and chip? It might seem like a stupid question to some, but to others it's not. So if anyone would like to respond w/out calling me names please do. My son is driving me crazy about when I'll be finished.

I have been on the modchip.com site and they don't tell you exactly what to do after you get the ps2 dissassembled, and that is the info I need.

p.s. how do I know exactly which modchip I ordered and received? I mean when I got the package it just came in a white manilla envelope with a modchip and 8 wires and some solder.
