another isuue could be ur dvd laser, I have pretty much the same setup as you except PAL ,
I have had some dvd-r that boot and then freeze during gameplay, ended up send that ps2 away to be realligned, only this was the bloody console was only a month old, I think the cause of the damage may come from trying to boot oversize dvd-rips I remember its drive making some nasty ticking sounds when I try and boot em... before I knew about the dvd-rip issue then about a week later my once perfect dvd-r copies started freezing and skipping... the ticks could be stressing the mechanics of the laser? anyone have any thoughts??? elkay
