I tried v1.30 yesterday in a v4 and it didn't work (DVD driver 2.10E). I believe v1.9 works - but I took it back to HMV a couple of weeks ago because that doesn't work in the v5. DVDRX 2 works with DVD Driver 2.10E. It'll be released free on the April issue of PSi-2 magazine (so reserve from your newsagent). Well I don't actually know that it will be DVDRX v2 but its's a full working version and free. Maybe it's 1.9. There would be little point though giveing away something that won't work with all the PS2s released since Christmas. Hope that helps.
