Whos played Silent Hill series games?

Ok, as much as I love my FPS action and RPG games, I love my horror games.

I recently just acquired Silent Hill 4 The Room. Yes the game is hard, lots of puzzle solving. But for those who've played the previous Silent Hill games, I want your opinions of what you think about it, so I can spend my money wisely.......PC though!

So what do you think of the Silent Hill Series games?????
