Sims 2 Holiday Edition install problems

First let me start off by saying I don't know much about the computer, I only can surf the web,check email and play the sims 2.Which brings me to my question. I was playing the sims 2 holiday eddition for months now, I've downloaded alot of stuff to it also. Well one day the game froze on me and I saved some files, then uninstalled the game, when I tried to install it again it say... The sims 2 will install an additional 324MB of Data on drive C...proceed with install.. and I press yes. It starts to install and it stops at 7%. Now since then I added 1GB to my pc and the game still won't install...what can I do to play my game again?...Scared to buy another game because I dont know if it will try to install the same memory on that game too...If anybody can help please do. Thanks
