Flip-Top cover but no dvd burner?

Hey I am sort of new to modchips on the ps2 ( have done psp firmware downgrades..etc..) anyway I was thinking about getting 'PS2 Flip-Top Cover with Swap Magic 3.6 Plus' with that I could back-up games and simply use them with the flip-top. So far this seems like the fastest and easiest way of using back-up games. But what I wanted to know is will I have any problems since I dont have a dvd burner. I do have a cd burner. I wanted to know if a cd burner is good enof for the job?

Also do you guyz recoomend anything else besides the flip-top thing? I need it in NTSC format and I really want to have online play!
