Da Vinci Code: Gray Screen... can't see anything.

These are the requirements to play the da vinci code:

Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP - Pentium III 888 Mhz - 64 MB of Ram - 1.2 GB of free space one hard drive - CD-ROM 16x - 64MB video card (compatible ©DirectX 9).

I have cheched for this requirements and I have them all installed properly in both computers at home. Now, when I use Virtual Daemon or simply the exe crack, I don't get anything but a gray screen or after a while a completely black screen after the introduction movie is played at the very beginning of the game. I have tried changing all resolutions and all kind of possible tweaks on my video card and I get nothing, but sound. My video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX 440. Any recommendations???
