D-Tools and CureROM
Hey,
Thanks all. I got this game from Best Buy (DVD version), but it wouldn't play because I had Alcohol installed, which I use for archiving. I didn't need to uninstall Alcohol, but using CureRom 3.1, setting the sweaw file to Windows 2000 compatibility, and loading the image in D-Tools 403 (no emulation options, or RPMS only) instead of Alcohol (which was unloaded) resulted in the image eventually loading, though it took a minute. With the original dvd, it still took longer than it should, 30 sec or so, but I'm willing to live with that. EDIT: After more testing, I was able to reduce loading times to normal (ie, 5-10 secs) with both original dvd and image by first starting CureRom in Lite-Mode, with blacklisting enabled. Then, with the image already loaded, I selected all emulation options (for some reason, just RPMS or RPMS and Securom don't work). I just clicked the shortcut created by the original install. This worked every time I tried it. (BTW, Alcohol is still unloaded). Last edited by fatdog789; 21-02-2006 at 21:50. |
