Does this happen when CDR drive is reading data from the game or anytime even on a paused game?
Read past threads posted by TheMaskedM0m0 (I think it was you) about lose ribbon cables and how to replace or fix common problems (your symptoms are common, the problem might be not though). Good luck anyway.
