Question about point of game crack+fix for you all

First off, let me say i am guilty of downloading games (hopefully that won't get me banned because this is not related to actually playing a game illegially) I only download gamefix to play without paying... of course for some games after i try it and find it fun and i want to play online, i'll go out and buy the game.

But it seems like most of you who do post here do actually buy the original game in order to play. My question is, what's the point of doing all these coding, game fix if you already got the game? If you already got the cd is it so hard to put it into the cdrom before playing? So why crack? for the pure enjoyment of cracking? Or do you all throw away the game cd after you buy it?

appreciate your answer.
