broadband adapter ripping

Right now I'm torn between buying the parts and making a coders cable so I can rip games that way or buying a broadband adapter and hooking it up to my network. So far I can't figure out how to write the ip software so you can connect to the dc, but maybe I have to have the adapter first? What ripping software works with the broadband adapter, if any?
