***Previous msg withdrawn*** -- too insulting
Now for some corrections now im back to myself.

Yes Gangsters 2 was codelok/copylok and that was what i was talking about, a silly mistake as i wasnt thinking straight.
now for some very polite corrections to your mesage...

(1) you ask about what other options exist, i was suggesting that with sd2 it is rare that a copy works in one cd rom and not another.

(2) the error msg i was taking about is the macrovision box that comes up NOT the windows internal error, simply because i was trying to see if this game was sd2 protected.
as for max payne, b&w, gansters 2 of any protected game for that fact including secure rom, sd 1&2 , clopylok, and any other modern protection if you dont put the cd in and dont have a cracked exe or loader then you will get the offical msg ie "Please insert correct disk" and this is msg , is indictive of the copy protection ie it is not the same for any 2 cd protections

(3) The quote "SD2 is a strange beast. There is no true hard and fast rule other than having the original." was made a long time ago by the creator of clonecd. However if you have an acer or phillips chip set burner (like i do) then you can ALWAYS backup sd2 protected games, although i use my mitsumi 4804te to read the original cd as its faster and is a more capable reader than the acer/ phillip chipset burners.

i appoligise if you saw and were offended by the origional msg, i just dont like being corrected, because i do know alot about copy protections i just find it hard to communicate in english.
