OK, do you copy disc-to-disc?

This is not advisable. Better to create an image file first, then burn. Next, use a program like Mem Turbo, to omptimise you Windows disc cache and hopefully avoid buffer underruns.

Do you have any other cd-r programs installed? Some programs like those made by Adaptec don't like sharing your drive with other cd-r programs.

Your ASPI drivers also need to be #####ed to ensure they're the latest version. Use Aspichk.exe. I think the latest ASPI layers are version 4.6.

What spec is your pc - CPU. Motherboard, WIN Version?

The correct conenction for copying discs as far as your IDE ports are concerned, should be:

Primary Master = hard-drive
Primary slave = free or secondary hard-drive

Secondary Master = CD-Rom/DVD
Secondary Slave = Cd-Writer

Some manufacturers use one cable for a hard-drive and cd-writer to cut costs down, which can cause problems.

Finally, what make is your writer?

All the best.
