"Chow posted his PS2 info in his signature for everyone to see, all anyone had to do was look, (yourself included)"

All it says is GS2 version 2---I've seen at least 8 versions mentioned in these forums regularly. That's all I'll say about that.

As for who ripped who first, "You dont know what you are talking about!! " was the first rip--and it was in your post. Clark was technically correct--the GS2 will not "BOOT DVD-R". you have to trick it. To his knowledge, there was only one way to trick the GS2 to play DVDR--and as stated, you have to have 1.7-2.02 to Boot them "properly". I'm not sure, but I would imagine there could be some problems if the timing is not right with your method. If by chance it is done a bit too late, the disc could start spin-up as the tray opens. Mine takes almost 25 seconds before spin up with this method--but then again, I have ver 2.11, with a big code list. Again, he did know what he was talking about as far as he knew--your way may be known to veterans, but not to new people--and that reaction was a bit harsh and uncalled for.

As for "Singling Out"--you started it. You flamed him, and you flamed me. As for researching an issue--I do. I subscribe to 5 different forum lists--some also for PC games. Although I'm new to the PSX/PS2 scene(2 months now), I've been ripping and cracking games/CD's/DVD's for over 5 years now and I've learned a few things here and there. I'm on at least one or two lists every night, and don't post a lot because I usually find what I need, or someone else has posted what I would have to say. When I do post, if I am unsure if the information is reliable--I SAY SO. Likewise, if I do provide misinformation, I apologize and correct it. I tried to credit you for presenting a work-around for an otherwise flawed combination, and you ripped me. I've even tried to apologize to you, and you ribbed me again.

I'm not having a bad day, and I'm not looking to flame anyone or start an argument---I'm just trying to make sure the facts are straight and no one gets mislead. I nearly trashed my box because I had been mis-informed. Fortunately, I've had my hands in the guts of computers, dvd/cd players, vcr's, tv's, and a few game boxes and arcade machines for nearly 10 yrs now, and was able to stop myself from frying my PS2. It is a great diservice to belittle anyone who is trying to help out--I have had no intention of doing so. I just want to make sure everyone has all the facts straight in a short, easy to read post. Like I asked earlier, it might be beneficial to list your method in a new thread so others can find it easier--it would be in one place with an easily recognizable header.
