Red Faction

Hi -

I made a copy of my Red Faction cd using Easy CD Creator 5 in hopes to keep the original as pristine as possible. I then installed the game using the copied cd and got an error about a file missing. The game loads momentarily then locks up and is unplayable. I was curious if:
1). There is some kind of cd protection on the cd?
2). If so, is there a way around it?
3). Has anyone else had the same problem with a copied Red Faction cd?

Thx for your help...

Dan

Well it defnitely has a protection.., i don't know what it is but get clony xl and it will tell. Get cloneCD and make 1:1 copy of it.

If it is SD2 protrection then you have to have a cdrw that can do that.

I succesfully Burn't a backup copy using a TEAC CD-W45E Burner

I used Blindwrite v1.103 (had just downloaded it and took it for a test drive), When using this there was no reason to change any settings e.g Read Speed, Error Correction. It burn't straight and works fine

I had run CLonyXL and it found no Safedisk Prot. V1 or v2

Use anything but Easy CD Creator and you should be OK
