question about copying Safedisk V2 protected games

Hi,
My CD RW doesn't read sub channel data, but I have always been able to make back up copies of games using CDRWIN.
What I do is make a copy of the game using cdrwin, install and then replace the exe with a nocd exe.
However,I've just tried to copy a safedisk V2 game and tried to follow the same procedure. What's happened is that when I finish copying the game using CDRWIN,and try and burn it on a cd,the resulting cd has no files on it,even though it in explorer it says that it has 550 mb on it.
I tried to burn it again this time on a slower setting, this time I got only one file on the cd ,of 550mb.Needless to say it wouldn't open or run.

Am I doing something wrong or is it hopeless to try and copy a safedisk V2 game with the CDRW that I have (a cheapo Freecom x8)

Any help much appreciated

Matt

Very few drives can cope with Safedisc 2. Take a look here
http://www.cdrinfo.com/software/clonecd/page13.shtml
and go to the list "Compatible SD2 CDR-W drives"

What the last post said is pretty true. If you have an Acer or Plextor drive you will be fine and of course there are a few more but the above mentioned drives work flawlessly. There is however a slick little program called BetaBlocker. You will still need to use CloneCd to create your image then drag and drop the image into the BetaBlocker window and execute BetaBlocker. This program will help those people whose drives are not fully compatible with CloneCd. You can find BetaBlocker just about anywhere just search for it...you can also try looking for it at www.cdrinfo.com also, you can download a fully functioning copy of CloneCd for trial purposes here: www.elaborate-bytes.com

Good Luck!!
